Die Freiheit (in) der Gemeinschaft

von der Klassischen Deutschen Philosophie zur Gegenwart, und zurück

Joint Research Project

University of Leipzig/University of Regensburg, Research Network: Freedom and Punishment

University of Padua, Permanent Seminar of Philosophy of Religion

Joint Research Project - DAAD Hochschuldialog mit Südeuropa 2024

The project represents a collaboration between philosophers and legal scholars from the universities of Padua, Leipzig, and Regensburg, each bringing distinct expertise in Classical German Philosophy. Initiated in 2023, the project aims to answer the following question: What is individual freedom, and how is it realized in and through communal life?

Drawing on various constellations within Classical German Philosophy, the collaboration brings together two primary research groups: the Permanent Seminar of Philosophy of Religion (Padua) and the Research Network Freedom and Punishment (Leipzig/Regensburg).

As part of the cooperation, joint international and interdisciplinary hybrid seminars, conferences, and an international exchange of researchers between Leipzig and Padua are taking place.

Project coordinators:
Prof. Stefan Schick (Leipzig)
Prof. Barbara Santini (Padua)
